Destiny Maev (Vinley) is a Chicago based circus artist, aerialist, actress and coach. She trained in the professional programs at both the National Institute of Circus Arts (Melbourne, AU) and the New England Center for Circus Arts (Brattleboro, VT) with a focus in aerial performance and Chinese pole. Destiny was Program Director for inaugural year of the the Quixotic School of Performing Arts aerial program (2010) before joining the core staff at NECCA (2012-2014). She continues to travel the country assisting NECCA/Nimble Arts with their teacher training programs despite having relocated to Chicago to join the Aloft Circus ensemble (2014). Destiny is also an aerial trainer for Royal Caribbean International in Miami (2015-present) and an ensemble member of Theater Unspeakable in Chicago (2016-present).
Destiny also has 18 years of theater performance experience and studied sculpture, creative writing and interdisciplinary arts at the Kansas City Art Institute. She has been honored to train throughout the years with coaches such as Elsie Smith, Serenity Forchion Smith, Sandra Feusi of Vertical Tango, Ruby Rowat, Helene Embling, Aurora Kurth, Sellam Oushabi and Jamie Hodgson. Destiny has worked with such companies as: New England Center for Circus Arts, Harrah’s Casino & VooDoo Lounge, Aloft & El Circo Cheapo, Aerial Experience Productions, Quixotic, Grand Arts, Actors Gymnasium, Shore Circus, Circus Swingapore in Singapore, On The Fly Productions and Royal Caribbean International. Destiny takes flight with performing for tours, event entertainment, consultation for artistic aerial installations and teaching workshops and private lessons in aerial silks, sling/tissu loop, static trapeze, Chinese pole, strength & conditioning, and act creation.
