Destiny Vinley likes to fly. So in 2007, while she was studying Interdisciplinary Art at the Kansas City Art Institute, Destiny founded Maevy Aerial Arts to create aerial performance to enhance and enthrall — and to get her feet off the ground. Over the next two years she was a co-founding member of the two first aerial-focused companies in Kansas City- Voler: Thieves of Flight and Paragon Aerial Silks. She continued her development by heading to Melbourne, Australia to attend the National Institute of Circus Arts. When back in the States, she became the lead aerial instructor for the inaugural year of the Quixotic School of Performing Art public aerial program.
In 2011 Destiny relocated to Vermont and completed the Intensive Professional Training Program at the New England Center for Circus Arts and joined the coaching staff at NECCA for the following two years. After traveling to Singapore to coach for two months Destiny the relocated to Chicago to join Aloft as a company member. She has focused on aerial technique and performance in aerial silks,static trapeze, tissu loops, Chinese pole. Her talents don’t stop there, Destiny has 16 years of theater performance experience and designs and creates all her own costumes. She has been honored to train throughout the years with coaches such as Elsie Smith, Serenity Forchion Smith, Sandra Feusi of Vertical Tango, Ruby Rowat, Helene Embling, Aurora Kurth, Jamie Hodgson, and J.Darden Longenecker.
Destiny has worked with such companies as: New England Center for Circus Arts, Harrah’s Casino & VooDoo Lounge, Aloft & El Circo Cheapo, Aerial Experience Productions, Quixotic, Actors Gymnasium, and most recently Circus Swingapore in Singapore.
